Queen Victoria was the monarch of the united kingdom and ireland. she also was the empress of india. She started reigning the 20th of june 1837 and her coronation was in the 28th of june of the next year. She was the daugther of prince edward, duke of kent and stratheam, the fourth son of king george III. Both the duke and he king died in 1820, and then she was raised under close supervision by her german-born mother. At the age of eighteen after her fathers three brothers died she assumed the power. A few years later she married her first cousin prince Albert of Saxo-coburg and gothia.
